Need sleeeeeep. :P

I went out drinking and dancing last night after a VERY long time of not doing so. It was this R&B club (the Butter Factory) that has been opened for some time, and it was said that this place was good. And it was good – damn good. Music was good, the crowd was not full of teenage wannabe-niggers, and the drinks were good. The night started out a bit badly though; first, I couldn’t get a cab; and then, when I finally got one and we got to the club, we discovered that my friend left her mobile phone in the cab. :( Spent another 20 minutes trying to get through the line to report it missing…So we were both in a foul mood when we finally went in.

But it all changed for the better. The music was bloody good, and so was the crowd. I danced non-stop for about 3-4 hours, and got eyed by 4 different guys (but my friend and I successfully ignored them, with a little bit of maneuvering here and there to prevent them from dancing with us :P Though I am quite sure this black guy was definitely interested. And he was cute too. God, i need to get the sign of my forehead :P ), got back home at 4 a.m., and my legs and head hurt today :P

But I feel good nonetheless; I needed a night like this for a long time. And my clubbing kaki was a friend that I only just recently made up with.

Heh. Now I need to lie down. And perchance, to sleep.

My nose right now is really RED . Something bit it, methinks. But it’s really bad. Obvious enough that my colleague remarked, ” Your nose…. it’s… glowing….” Just call me Rudolph, will ya :P  And it hurts too :( and my hair is turning green(er). Am quite fed up. Have told my hair dresser that I am going to see them on Saturday. If only because I want advice and to figure out wtf is on with the hair dammit.

I’m getting a little tired with K’s behaviour lately. On the one hand, he acts like a bf; in the next second, he reverts to type. Aiyah, WHATEVER lah. I try not to analyse, and yet I end up doing it. I know I should let things be, but it’s not working… I still end up analysing. Shite. And there is the company family day, where everyone is going to parade their bfs/gfs/ families around. Ugh. I really don’t want to go lah. But there are people telling me that I should. All this is feeding in to the situation where I am thinking about my exes – both. To the point that I start thinking to myself if I should get back together with them (!?!)

Work: is work. I am chasing people so that I CAN have work to do, but they are not cooperating. It’s very frustrating; have been begging work off people. My colleague, who is swamped, is only too glad to oblige.

And then, I have a grandma who is old. But who interprets her being old and the symptoms therein as signs that she is going to conk off. So she calls me every day to inform me of this fact.

My worries are nothing when compared to the bigger things happening around the world. BUT:

- this is my blog;

- these are my worries; and

- therefore, I am allowed to whinge.

So there.

I forgot to mention that on the first day, we managed to make it down to a more “upmarket” area (Nimanhaemin Road) to shop. Well, not my idea of shopping lah – it was all handwoven textiles and etc. And the birthday boy was dragged along with us, trying to look gallant and not bored to tears as mom + friend were going ga-ga over woven bedspreads and so forth, and the handmade scarves etc. And of course, true to the predictions of the cabby, it rained bucketloads. The whole street was flooded after the downpour…

The deluge

I came to the rescue of the birthday boy; it was the first day of my ”that time of the month”; hence, birthday boy could look gallant by telling the two ladies that he had to escort me back to the hotel, because I looked and was feeling so bad. So back to the hotel we went, where I lay in bed till dinner at that touristy place (see previous post).

******The 2nd Day******

Well, my room-mate (i.e. my mom) woke me up early – at 7 bloody a.m. or sthg ridiculous like that – and we went down for breaky. The rest of our group truned up as well at this point, which brought our group up to 8 poeple. That’s me there, sitting by the pool, with my hair wet, waiting for it to dry out. I must say the blue is turning up very obvious these days….though I think in this pic it’s more aquamarine rather than anything else.

Bluey

We headed down to Nimanhaemin Road again, where the poor guys quickly got bored, and where the 2 ladies (sans the one from the day before, who went off for her elephant tour) went nuts over the handicrafts, wheras me and the poor guys were completely bored. (Lesson learned: will not go to new country without first scouting where there are REALLY good shopping areas to go to.) The sun was also scorching, and as the guys just arrived that morning, it quickly sapped what was left of their energy. So we arranged to meet in a cafe an hour later, and they were there much earlier than us girls, prolly ‘cos they can’t find anything. Chiang Mai is known for its handicrafts; hence it’s prolly better for the females in terms of shopping. Actually, I think it may be better to go there on my own rather than with family. Easier to explore lah :P

So after feeling bored with all the “shopping’, we decided to head somewhere for lunch. there was this (allegedly) famous Teochew restaurant, where we all headed for lunch. but it turned out to be a disappointment – the fish wasn’t fresh, and the food was really quite ordinary.

We headed back to the hotel, where mom and I got our massage (the masseuses came over). I didn’t really enjoy it too much; traditional Thai massage almost feels like a milder form of wrestling :P  They pull ur arms and legs here and there; they use their feet (over all bits of ur body mind u), plus, the fact is that there is a reason for a proper ”massage bed” – the hotel bed was so soft that I kept sinking into it, so the massage ended uo being a little ineffective. and the air-conditioner in the room was on, and it was so bloody cold that I was thinking more about not freezing to death rather than anything else! :P

So that night, we decided to try this restaurant, Antique House, that had good reviews about it from our friends and travel guides as well. It’s a restaurant that’s set in a old house made entirely of wood. It’s a heritage site and it’s very pretty and almost like a museum, with so many exquisite antique teakwood furniture and carvings. Typical Lanna Thai cuisine was served, and we ate quite a bit.

We had to sit on the floor, so my leg was totally comatose when I eventually got up from sitting! Of course, it was non-air conditioned, which meant plenty of mozzies, and we were practically begging the staff to give us mosquito coils. :P They were prolly laughing at us foreigners lah… It’s a wonder all those mosquito coils didn’t kill the aroma or our taste for the food – which was pretty damn good. Did I mention that a certain feline friend decided to join our table before and during the meal, much to the delight of one of our party, Miss SS (a certified cat woman if I ever saw one), and to the horror of my mom, a animal tolerator (and only at a distance mind ye!). Here are some pix… (run ur mouse over them for a description)…

A laugh... not sure over what though...     And me, of course, sitting pretty... ;)

Looking adoringly at each other? :P

Birthday Boy slouching sexily...

And of course, we trundled back to the hotel in our SUV after that sumptious meal :)
